These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of LiteSpec ("we", "us", "our"), operated at litespec.org. By accessing or using the website, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use LiteSpec.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or otherwise using LiteSpec, you confirm that:

• You are at least 18 years of age or have the legal authority to enter into contracts.
• You have read, understood, and agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
• If you are using LiteSpec on behalf of an organization, you have authority to bind that organization.

A copy of these Terms is available at litespec.org/terms.html at all times. If paid plans are introduced, your agreement is additionally recorded at the time of checkout.

2. Subscriptions & Billing

Most of LiteSpec is free to use. LiteSpec Pro is a paid subscription that unlocks select advanced tools (currently the Defect Analyzer). The terms in this section apply to LiteSpec Pro and to any additional paid plans we introduce; they do not apply to the free tools and articles.

2.1 Plans

LiteSpec Pro is offered as:

• Pro Monthly, billed monthly.
• Pro Annual, billed annually at a discount to the monthly rate.

Current pricing is shown clearly at checkout before any charge is made. Free tools are not subject to payment terms.

2.2 Auto-Renewal

All paid subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing cycle unless you cancel before the renewal date. By subscribing, you authorize LiteSpec to charge your payment method on a recurring basis. You will receive a receipt via email for each charge.

2.3 Price Changes

We reserve the right to change subscription prices. If we do, we will notify you at least 30 days in advance via the email address on your account. Continued use of the service after the price change takes effect constitutes your acceptance of the new price.

3. No Refund Policy

This includes but is not limited to:

• Partial months or years remaining after cancellation.
• Failure to cancel before the next billing cycle.
• Forgetting to use the service.
• Dissatisfaction with features or tool results.
• Accidental purchases.
• Changing your mind after purchase.

3.1 Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time by contacting us at amrinderbrar148@gmail.com. Cancellation stops future charges. You will retain Pro access until the end of your current paid billing period. No partial refunds are issued for unused time.

3.2 Chargeback Policy

Initiating a chargeback or payment dispute with your bank or card issuer for a charge that is consistent with these Terms constitutes a material breach of this agreement. In such cases, we reserve the right to immediately terminate your account and ban you from future use of LiteSpec. We will provide full transaction records to our payment processor (Stripe) and your bank to contest any invalid dispute.

4. Account & Access

4.1 One Account Per Subscription

Each subscription is valid for one individual user account only. You may not share your login credentials, Pro access, or account with any other person or entity. Sharing constitutes fraud and will result in immediate account termination without refund.

4.2 Account Security

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at amrinderbrar148@gmail.com if you suspect unauthorized access.

4.3 Account Termination by Us

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate any account at our sole discretion, without notice, for conduct that we believe:

• Violates these Terms or any applicable law.
• Is fraudulent, abusive, or harmful to LiteSpec or other users.
• Involves account sharing, credential reselling, or unauthorized access.
• Involves scraping, automated extraction, or redistribution of our content or tool outputs.

Terminated accounts are not eligible for refunds.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use LiteSpec for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law or regulation.
• Reproduce, redistribute, resell, or sublicense access to LiteSpec tools or content.
• Use automated tools, bots, or scrapers to extract data from LiteSpec.
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract source code from LiteSpec.
• Impersonate any person or entity or misrepresent your affiliation.
• Introduce viruses, malware, or any harmful code into LiteSpec.
• Use tool outputs in any manner that violates applicable safety, building, or professional standards without independent verification.

6. Intellectual Property

All content on LiteSpec, including but not limited to text, tool logic, calculators, reference data, design, graphics, and code, is the exclusive property of LiteSpec and is protected by copyright and applicable intellectual property laws.

You may use tool outputs for your own professional work. You may not republish, sell, or distribute LiteSpec content or tools without express written permission.

7. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability

7.1 No Professional Advice

LiteSpec provides reference tools and educational content for the glass industry. All outputs, including calculator results, compliance checks, and product data, are for informational and QC reference purposes only. They do not constitute professional engineering, architectural, legal, or compliance advice.

Always verify results against current published standards, applicable building codes, and qualified professional judgment before using any output for certification, specification, construction, or legal purposes.

7.2 No Warranty

LiteSpec is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of inaccuracies.

7.3 Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, LiteSpec and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of or inability to use the service, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total liability to you for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

8. Fraud Prevention

We actively monitor for fraudulent activity. The following are considered fraud and will result in immediate account termination, reporting to Stripe, and potential legal action:

• Providing false identity information during account creation or checkout.
• Using stolen, unauthorized, or fraudulent payment methods.
• Filing false chargebacks or payment disputes for services legitimately rendered.
• Creating multiple accounts to circumvent the free tier or gain unauthorized Pro access.
• Reselling or distributing Pro credentials or tool outputs commercially.

We reserve the right to share relevant information with payment processors, financial institutions, and law enforcement agencies in connection with fraud investigations.

9. Third-Party Services

LiteSpec uses the following third-party services:

• Firebase (Google), account authentication and database. Subject to Firebase's Privacy & Security terms.
• Stripe, payment processing if and when paid plans are active. Your payment data is handled by Stripe and subject to Stripe's Privacy Policy. We do not store your card details.
• Netlify, hosting and serverless functions. Subject to Netlify's Privacy Policy.
• Google Fonts, typography delivery.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of British Columbia, Canada, and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in British Columbia, Canada.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For material changes, we will notify you via email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of LiteSpec after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
