Basis: float glass density 2.5 g/cm³ (GANA standard). Laminated, coated, and heat-treated glass of the same nominal thickness weigh the same to within <1%.

Disclaimer & limitations:
Glass lite weights are calculated from the standard float glass density of 2.5 g/cm³ (GANA Glass Handbook). This is the accepted industry basis and applies equally to annealed, heat-strengthened, tempered, and soft-coat coated glass.

Interlayer weights use standard published densities (PVB 1.07 g/cm³, SGP ~0.89 g/cm³).

Spacer bar and sealant weights are estimates based on typical aluminum box spacer (~0.05 kg/m) and combined PIB + silicone secondary seal (~0.18 kg/m of perimeter). Actual values vary by spacer system, sealant bite depth, and product. These components typically add 1–4% to total IGU weight.

Do not use these results for structural engineering calculations or certified shipping manifests. Verify actual weights with your glass fabricator or supplier before use in load design, handling equipment selection, or freight documentation.
